Chairman's Award
Purpose:
This award is presented to an individual or organization or group that has demonstrated significant support of the Society.

Steve Williams
Charter Communications
Generously donating his time and expertise, Steve has served on the executive committee as the Board secretary and as Region 10 Regional Representative since 2014, displaying true seal for supporting the mission of the Society. A shinning example of what it means to be a member, Steve has donated his time to encourage all chapter volunteers by chairing and guiding the Chapter Support Committee. An active society member since 2005, Steve quickly joined the local Piedmont chapter board in 2009 and began to give back to the society. Steve has exemplified what it means to serve SCTE.

Honoring Excellence in Local Leadership
Chapter of the Year Recipients
Chapter Leader of the Year Recipients
Purpose:
SCTE’s Chapter Awards Program enables members to acknowledge and recognize excellence among the chapters, meeting groups, and local leaders who contribute substantially to the industry by providing local educational opportunities, certification testing, outreach, membership support, and networking opportunities for cable telecommunications professionals.
Selection Criteria:
Awards are based upon the successful implementation of the Compliance and Awards Matrix in the following categories:
- Chapter Compliance: honoring those that have completed all requirements set forth in the chapter bylaws
- Chapter Recruitment: honoring those chapters that have successfully completed recruitment and retention of SCTE members
- Chapter Professional Development: honoring those chapters that have successfully provided training and certification testing in their local area
- Striving for Excellence: honoring chapters that have gone above and beyond traditional requirements, reaching out to other chapters and industry participants to further advance the mission of SCTE.
Eligibility:
All chapters are eligible to earn all of the awards above.
Chapter of the Year
Purpose:
The Chapter of the Year award will be given to the chapter that has completed all compliance requirements and earns the most points across all of the award categories.
Chapter Leader of the Year
Purpose:
This award identifies and recognizes the SCTE chapter member who has made the most significant contribution to his or her chapter through active participation in its programs and efforts during the past year.

Excellence in Learning and Development Award
Purpose
The Excellence in Learning and Development Award recognizes the achievements of learning and development professionals within the cable telecommunications community who have demonstrated significant success toward advancing the careers of others through the innovative use of cable telecommunications technology-centric curricula learning programs and/or presenting content in a way that improves the cable knowledge in the industry.

Agnes Francis-Adolphine
Cox Communications
Agnes is the Director of Learning and implementation for Cox Communication and Vice Chair of the SCTE Learning & Development Committee and chairs the Certification Subcommittee. She achieved this award by innovatively using cable telecommunications technology-centric curricula and by presenting content is a way that improves cable knowledge. Moreover, Agnes has been instrumental in helping the SCTE L&D team build vendor support for learning events, and has led the way in creating the L&D Experience at Cable-tec EXPO.

Excellence in Standards Award
The SCTE Excellence in Standards Award honors an SCTE Standards Program participant who has significantly contributed to both the technical standards program and the spirit of cooperation necessary for the success of voluntary standards.

John Dolan

John Dolan has chaired the SCTE Facility Climate Technologies Optimization working group since the inception of the Energy 2020 program five years ago and has consistently provided the leadership, the expertise and dedication needed to keep the program on track toward its objectives. He’s been active in authoring standards and journal articles, in working across the Energy 2020 team and in motivating and challenging his team to drive to consensus in a fair and open collaborative manner. John also has assisted other E2020 working groups by providing technical input and lessons learned regarding various new technologies being evaluated by MSO leaders.

International Cable-Tec Games
International Cable-Tec Games features the year's local winners competing against each other at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® for the international gold, silver, and bronze awards in seven categories: cable splicing, meter reading, cable jeopardy, OTDR, fiber splicing, drop connection and MTDR. Top winners place first, second and third overall.

International Engineering Professional Award
This award honors outstanding technical achievements and contributions made to the advancement of the global cable telecommunications industry by an engineering professional living outside of the United States.

Eduardo is an active participant in SCTE and a leader in the Telecommunications Industry. He has participated in several international conferences related to telecommunications, data networks, and video services platforms as an assistant or as a presenter. In 2018, he presented as a speaker at SCTE and the International Telecommunication Seminar (SIT 2018) hosted by Telecom. He has also contributed with several technical presentations, participating as a speaker in the International Conferences ATVC (Asociación Argentina de TV por Cable) since 2011.

Innovators Award
Purpose:
Technological advances are constantly changing the way the cable industry offers and maintains services that delight our customers. Some recent examples are DOCSIS® 3.1, the Internet of Things, fixed-mobile convergence, network functions virtualization, proactive network maintenance, test automations, blockchain security, and data analytics.
The SCTE Innovators Award annually recognizes a company that has introduced a service or product that embraces a technological advance and profoundly improves or expands service offerings to our customers.

2019 Recipient
As video service delivery evolves in the streaming era, our industry is recognizing that the sharing of login credentials could potentially cost pay-TV providers billions of dollars in lost revenue. Synamedia has been a leading force in using artificial intelligence to tackle this problem – its Credentials Sharing Insight solution applies behavioral analytics and machine learning models to detect sharers and to classify sharing patterns, helping our industry tackle what’s been estimated to be a 10 billion dollar problem.

George Bosak

2020 Member of the Year
George has distinguished himself through dedication and commitment to SCTE on both a local and national level as a regional representative and by providing countless trainings and webinars to chapter leaders and members. This past year, he went above and beyond, providing multiple webinars to chapters so chapters could continue to provide technical training to their members. A member of SCTE since 1993, he holds BCSS, BDS, BPE, BPI, BPT, BTCS and BTS SCTE Certification and has served in various chapter roles in the Dakota Territory Chapter, including Region 6 representative.

Spirit of the Games Award
The Spirit of the Games Award is presented yearly to a participant, staff member, or host vendor who truly embraces and exhibits sportsmanship and the learning environment at the games. The award is established in memory of David Jones, who had a very strong focus on the spirit of the SCTE Cable-Tec Games.

Wilt J. Hildenbrand Jr.
Purpose:
To identify and a rising star in the cable industry, 40 years old or younger, who has made the most significant contributions to the innovations of the cable industry. This award is managed by the SCTE Foundation in Wilt J. Hildenbrand Jr.'s memory. Wilt Hildenbrand was a technology pioneer and industry legend who unexpectedly passed away in 2018 at the age of 70 after a lengthy career that included four decades in the Cablevision organization. In addition to the award, the SCTE Foundation also oversees a scholarship in his memory. For more information about the scholarship see the SCTE Foundation website.

This award is presented to a young leader who has made significant contributions to SCTE and the cable industry in his or her early career.
As Sr. Manager of Software Development with Charter Communications, Kerry heled ensure the success of Charter's IP Video Services (IPVS) application by skillfully addressing operational issues and refactoring the application to enable it to orchestrate customer experiences on both QAM and IP delivered video. Today, she manages to IPVS application which helps support millions of video customer experiences daily and is a key component in Charter's video streaming products.
